The Delaware Department of Agriculture will hold public hearings in all three counties and is seeking public input in reviewing existing regulations to determine whether they should be amended or rescinded.
Pursuant to 29 Del. C. Section 10407, DDA is conducting a review of regulations that have not been updated within the last four years and which are not under the purview of a state Commission. The latter category includes the Delaware Agricultural Lands Preservation Foundation, the Nutrient Management Commission, the Thoroughbred Racing Commission and the Harness Racing Commission.
The Department will be soliciting input from the public through October 1, 2016. In addition, the Department is conducting an internal review of its regulations and will hold one public hearing in each county.
The Department's public hearings are scheduled for:
- 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at the Delaware Department of Agriculture Cordrey Administration Building, 2320 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901
- 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at the Carvel Research & Education Center, 16483 County Seat Highway, Georgetown, De 19947
- 11 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Blackbird State Forest, 502 Blackbird Forest Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.
