Delaware & Maryland Watermelon Growers Guide |
Each year, from July through September, Maryland and Delaware growers
are proud to produce the highest-quality seed and seedless red and yellow
watermelons. The Maryland-
Delaware Watermelon Association is a chapter in the National Watermelon
Association, with approximately 50 members. The mission of the Association
is to increase consumer demand of
watermelons in the region as well as to promote healthier lifestyles and
increase
consumer awareness of the watermelon industry.
Maryland and Delaware are blessed with a climate of moderate temperatures
and soils perfect for growing great tasting melons. Located in the heart
of the Mid-Atlantic regions, our produce is within one day's hauling distance
to markets from Florida to
Canada.
